Sarah Calfee is a senior People and Culture executive with more than 25 years of experience partnering with CEOs, boards, and executive teams to build organizations where strategy, culture, and performance align. With a rare combination of legal, business, and human resources expertise, she brings a holistic and pragmatic approach to workforce strategy, organizational design, and leadership development across nonprofit, technology, manufacturing, retail, and private equity–backed firms.

Over the course of her career, Sarah has led enterprise People functions through periods of rapid growth, transformation, and complexity. She has scaled organizations from early-stage startups to multi-hundred-employee enterprises, designed workforce planning and succession strategies to support long-term growth, and guided executive teams through mergers, acquisitions, and confidential CEO succession planning. Her work consistently balances operational rigor with a deep commitment to employee experience, inclusion, and organizational health.

Sarah is known for building high-performing, values-driven cultures. She has redesigned onboarding and leadership development programs to accelerate clarity, connection to mission, and leadership readiness, particularly within remote and distributed workforces. Her experience spans talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits strategy, HR operations, and employee communications, with a strong track record of improving outcomes while reducing organizational risk.

In addition to her corporate leadership experience, Sarah is the Immediate Past President of the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management, where she has served in multiple leadership roles and advocates for the HR profession, ethical leadership, and inclusive workplace practices.

Sarah holds a Juris Doctor with a concentration and honors in employment law and an MBA in New Venture Management. She is SHRM-SCP certified and has been recognized for her leadership, professionalism, and contributions to the HR community.
